SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the SSC Constable GD recruitment, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Nationality
Candidates must be Indian citizens. Since the vacancies are state/ UT-wise, applicants must provide proof of domicile/ PRC.
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 to 23 years of age as of January 1, 2024. The birth dates should fall between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2006.
Age Relaxation
There are certain age relaxations provided for different categories:
- SC/ ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years
Educational Qualification

The application fee can be paid via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards, or through cash in SBI Branches by generating an SBI Challan.

SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2023 Selection Process
The selection process for SSC Constable GD consists of the following stages:
- Computer Based Examination (CBE)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)

Computer Based Examination
Candidates who have submitted their applications are required to appear for the Computer Based Examination (CBE). The details are as follows:
- Number of questions: 80 multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
- Total marks: 160 marks
- Duration: 60 minutes

The Computer Based Test Syllabus (CBT)
The examination syllabus is as follows:
A) General Intelligence and Reasoning:
- Analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, figural categorization, arithmetic number series, nonverbal series, coding and decoding, and so on are all covered.
B) General Knowledge and General Awareness:
- Questions to test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment, current events, and scientific aspects of everyday observations and experiences. Topics include sports, history, culture, geography, economics, general polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific research.
C) Elementary Mathematics:
- Questions on number systems, number computation, decimals, fractions, fundamental arithmetic operations, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and time.
D) English/ Hindi:
- Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi and their comprehension skills will be tested.
Physical Standards and Tests
Candidates who qualify the CBE will undergo the following tests:
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
The PST and PET will be conducted at various centers determined by the CAPFs. The physical standards for height, chest measurement, and weight vary for male and female candidates.
Candidates who clear the PST and PET will proceed to the Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Document Verification stages.
