CBSE CTET Notification Details

The official announcement of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) July 2024 has been published on the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) website. CBSE CTET exam is scheduled to be conducted on 7th July 2024 and will take place in 136 cities with the choice of 20 languages. It is a must for persons who wish to start a career in teaching at the school level to complete the CTET exam. Eligible candidates can apply for the exam through the provided online application portal.

CBSE CTET Exam Eligibility Criteria

Classes I-V (Primary Stage)

The candidates must have done the Senior Secondary (and its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or be in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (and by whatever name it is known).

Or

Moreover, those who have 45% marks or higher in their Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and comply with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002, can also appear for the exam.

Or

Candidates with Senior Secondary or its equivalent and with at least 50% marks are eligible if they have either passed or are in their final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed) program.

Or

Those who have Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) qualifications and at least 50% marks and who have either passed or are in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) may also apply.

Or

Candidates who have completed their graduation with an aggregate of 50% marks and have a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree qualify for the teaching program.

It should be noted that candidates who get a Bachelor’s degree in Education from any NCTE recognized institution will be considered for appointment as teachers in classes I to V. However, such individuals will have to undertake a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within two years after their appointment as primary school teachers.

Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage)

Candidates are eligible for CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) if they have completed graduation and are in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or equivalent.

Candidates with a graduation degree and have scored at least 50% marks can also apply along with candidates who have completed the 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) program.

Alternatively, those with a graduation degree, securing a minimum of 45%, 1-year B.Ed pass or appearing for the final year, as per NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, are also eligible.

Or those who have completed 10+2 level of education (or an equivalent) with minimum of 50% marks and have passed or are in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education program (B.EI.Ed) are also eligible.

People who have completed senior secondary education with at least 50% marks and passed or are appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed degree program are also eligible.

Graduates, who have passed with at least 50% marks or are pursuing a 1 year B.Ed (Special Education) course may also apply.

Or the aspirants who have successfully qualified B. Ed. from any NCTE recognized institution can also appear in TET/CTET. According to the present TET rules and NCTE letter of 11-02-2011, all those candidates who choose any teacher education course sanctioned by the NCTE or RCI mentioned in the Notification of NCTE dated on 23rd August 2010 are also eligible to appear for TET/CTET.

  1. Visit the official portal of CBSE CTET.
  2. Or, Navigate to the Usful Links section below.
  3. Click on the Online Application Form link.
  4. Fill in all personal and educational details.
  5. Upload required documents including photograph and signature.
  6. Pay the examination fee as per category.
  7. Submit and print a copy for future reference.
