Online applications are invited from MALE INDIAN CITIZENS who meet the prescribed educational qualifications and age criteria for recruitment to various positions in the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2023. Below are the details:

Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

1. Navik (General Duty): Applicants must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
2. Navik (Domestic Branch): Candidates should have completed Class 10th from an education board recognized by COBSE.
3. Yantrik: For this position, candidates must have:
  • Completed Class 10th from an education board recognized by COBSE, and
  • Obtained a Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering with a duration of 03 or 04 years approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), OR
  • Completed Class 10th & Class 12th from an education board recognized by COBSE “AND” obtained a Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering with a duration of 02 or 03 years approved by AICTE.

Age Criteria:

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Maximum age: 22 years
  • For Navik (GD), Navik (DB), and Yantrik, candidates must be born between 01 May 2001 and 30 April 2005.

ICG Recruitment 2023 Vacancy Details

The tentative number of posts for various categories is as follows:
Navik (General Duty): 225 posts
Navik (Domestic Branch): 40 posts
Yantrik (Mechanical): 16 posts
Yantrik (Electrical): 10 posts
Yantrik (Electronics): 9 posts

Coast Guard Notification 2023 Selection Procedure

Stage I – Written Examination

Document Verification

At Stage-I, candidates’ identity will be verified against the details they provided in the online application. Candidates must bring the following documents for verification at their respective examination centers:

Required Documents

  1. Valid original Identity proof (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID card, Driving License, or Passport) as submitted/uploaded in the online application.
  2. 01 Colored printout of E-admit card (black & white printout not allowed).
  3. 02 passport-size color photographs with similar facial features as uploaded in the online application.
  4. For SC/ST applicants only: Original caste certificate and 02 photocopies of self-attested SC/ST certificate, original train/bus ticket, canceled cheque leaf for NEFT payment, and travel form downloaded from the website for claiming TA.
Note: This stage is only a preliminary basic document verification. Detailed document verification will occur at Stage-II and Stage-III as per the rules mentioned in succeeding paragraphs.

Biometric Recording

Candidates whose identity is verified with the original document will undergo biometric recording at Stage-I. The biometric data captured at Stage-I will be matched and verified at subsequent stages (Stage-II, Stage-III, & Stage-IV).

Written Test

Candidates must take the following tests depending on the post applied:

Navik (DB)

  • Section I
  • Passing Marks: 30 (UR/EWS/OBC), 27 (for SC/ST)

Navik (GD)

  • Section (I+II)
  • Passing Marks: 30+20=50 (UR/EWS/OBC), 27+17=44 (SC/ST)

Yantrik (Electrical)

  • Section (I+III)
  • Passing Marks: 30+20=50 (UR/EWS/OBC), 27+17=44 (SC/ST)

Yantrik (Electronics)

  • Section (I+IV)
  • Passing Marks: 30+20=50 (UR/EWS/OBC), 27+17=44 (SC/ST)

Yantrik (Mechanical)

  • Section (I+V)
  • Passing Marks: 30+20=50 (UR/EWS/OBC), 27+17=44 (SC/ST)

Section I

  • Maximum Marks: 60
  • Time: 45 mins.
  • Total no. of Questions: 60
  • Subjects: Maths (20), Science (10), English (15), Reasoning (10), GK (5)
  • Passing Marks: 30 (UR/EWS/OBC), 27 (for SC/ST)
  • Syllabus: Class 10th

Section II

  • Maximum Marks: 50
  • Time: 30 mins.
  • Total no. of Questions: 50
  • Subjects: Maths (25), Physics (25)
  • Passing Marks: 20 (UR/EWS/OBC), 17 (for SC/ST)
  • Syllabus: Class 12th Maths & Physics

Section III

  • Maximum Marks: 50
  • Time: 30 mins.
  • Total no. of Questions: 50
  • Subjects: Electrical Engineering (50)
  • Passing Marks: 20 (UR/EWS/OBC), 17 (for SC/ST)
  • Syllabus: Diploma Level Electrical Engineering

Section IV

  • Maximum Marks: 50
  • Time: 30 mins.
  • Total no. of Questions: 50
  • Subjects: Electronics Engineering (50)
  • Passing Marks: 20 (UR/EWS/OBC), 17 (for SC/ST)
  • Syllabus: Diploma Level Electronics Engineering

Section V

  • Maximum Marks: 50
  • Time: 30 mins.
  • Total no. of Questions: 50
  • Subjects: Mechanical Engineering (50)
  • Passing Marks: 20 (UR/EWS/OBC), 17 (for SC/ST)
  • Syllabus: Diploma Level Mechanical Engineering

Note:

  1. The question paper for sections I, II, III, IV & V will be objective type with four options, and there is no negative marking.
  2. Detailed syllabus for each section is available on the ICG website.

Stage II

Based on the performance in the Computer Based Online Examination, a merit list will be prepared, and provisional E-admit cards for Stage-II will be issued as per the vacancies available. Candidates shortlisted for Stage-II must upload additional documents as mentioned in Para 7 (e) below. Failure to upload these documents within the specified time frame will lead to the cancellation of candidature. Stage-II will last for 1 to 2 days and will be conducted at the assigned center.

Stage-II Tests

(i) Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
  • 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes.
  • 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak).
  • 10 Push-up.
(ii) Document Verification
  • All information provided in the online application must match with all original documents. Any discrepancies will result in the failure of document verification and cancellation of candidature.
(iii) Initial Medical Examination
  • Candidates may be declared permanently unfit or temporarily unfit during the initial medical examination. Appeal medicals can be sought within specific time frames.

Stage III

Based on the performance in Stage-I & Stage-II, an all India merit list will be prepared, and provisional E-admit cards for Stage-III will be issued as per the vacancies available. Stage-III will last for 1 to 2 days and includes the following:

(i) Document Verification
  • All information provided in the online application must match with all original documents. Any discrepancies will result in the failure of document verification and cancellation of candidature.
(ii) Final Medicals at INS Chilka
  • Candidates found medically unfit during the final medical examination at INS Chilka will not be enrolled for training. An appeal process is available for medically unfit candidates.
(iii) Submission of Original Documents, Police Verification, and Other Associated Forms
  • Candidates must submit original documents, police verification forms, and other associated forms along with the E-admit card of Stage-III. Police verification should be from the place of domicile or place of present residence.

Stage IV

Candidates who clear Stage III and stand in merit as per the vacancies available will be provisionally shortlisted for training at INS Chilka. Verification of all original documents will be carried out, and candidates found with non-genuine documents will be terminated from service.

  • Applications will be accepted online from 08 Sep 22 (1100 hrs) to 22 Sep 22 (1730 hrs).
  • Candidates must register on joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  • Follow the guidelines and FAQs provided on the website for filling out the application form.
  • Candidates can apply for only one post in one cycle.
  • Upload required documents, including photographs, signatures, thumb impressions, date of birth proof, identity proof, and service certificates if applicable.

Pay and Benefits Of Coast Guard Recruitment 2023

  • Navik (General Duty): Basic pay of Rs. 21,700/- (Pay Level-3) plus allowances.
  • Navik (Domestic Branch): Basic pay of Rs. 21,700/- (Pay Level-3) plus allowances.
  • Yantrik: Basic pay of Rs. 29,200/- (Pay Level-5) plus Yantrik pay of Rs. 6,200/- and allowances based on duty/place of posting.
