National Housing Bank Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

  1. Nationality / Citizenship Candidates must meet one of the following criteria: (i) Be a citizen of India
    (ii) Be a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee with the intention of permanent settlement in India
    (iii) Be a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specific countries with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates in this category must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
  2. Age Limit (As of September 1, 2023) Age limits vary by position, ranging from a minimum of 21 years to a maximum of 62 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided for specific categories, including SC, ST, OBC, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.

Educational Qualification For National Housing Bank Recruitment

1. Chief Economist (On Contract):

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: A Master’s Degree in Economics with specialization in monetary economics or Econometrics from a recognized Indian/ Foreign University.
  • Desirable: A doctorate degree in Economics / Banking / Finance from a recognized University will be preferable.
  • Minimum Post-qualification Experience: The candidate must have an overall experience of at least 15 years in a Commercial Bank / FI / reputed Rating Agencies / Government Bodies, out of which a minimum of 10 years of experience should be in areas related to the Indian Economy and sectoral economy (preferably housing sector) in a Commercial Bank / FI / Rating Agencies / Government Bodies. Preference shall be given to candidates with work experience as an Economist in Commercial Banks / FIs / Rating Agencies / Government Bodies. Contribution to leading financial journals/ Newspapers will be an added advantage.

2. General Manager (Project Finance):

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: Graduate in any discipline with Chartered Accountant.
  • Minimum Post-qualification Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in Banks / FIs / regulated lending entities, of which minimum 12 years should be in handling credit / project finance in Banks / FIs / regulated lending entities. The candidate’s current post should be at Scale – VI or equivalent in PSBs / Grade D in AIFIs / equivalent in lending entities.

3. Deputy General Manager (CFO):

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: Chartered Accountant.
  • Desirable Educational Qualifications: PRM/ FRM Certification and/or CFA.
  • Minimum Post-qualification Experience: Minimum 12 years of post-qualification experience, including at least five years of work experience in overseeing financial operations such as accounting, taxation, and budgeting matters, in PSBs / AIFIs / Regulatory Bodies in India. The candidate’s current post should be at Scale – V in PSBs / Grade D in AIFIs / Regulatory Bodies.

4. Assistant General Manager (Economist):

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: Post Graduate degree in Economics.
  • Desirable: M.Phil., Ph.D.
  • Minimum Post-qualification Experience: 10 years of experience in Banks / Financial Institutions / Government Institutions / other public sector institutions, of which 8 years should be in areas related to economic research or strategic planning. The candidate’s current post should be at Scale IV in PSBs / Grade B in AIFIs / equivalent in lending entities.

5. Deputy Manager (Economist):

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: Post Graduate degree in Economics.
  • Desirable: M.Phil., Ph.D.
  • Minimum Post-qualification Experience: 2 years of experience in Banks / Financial Institutions / Government Institutions / other public sector institutions in the areas related to economic research or strategic planning. Relevant experience in Banks / Financial Institutions will be preferred. The candidate’s current post should be at Scale I in PSBs / Grade A in AIFIs / equivalent in lending entities.

6. Deputy Manager (MIS):

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: Post Graduate degree in Statistics OR Post Graduate degree/diploma in Operation Research.
  • Desirable: M.Phil., Ph.D.
  • Minimum Post-qualification Experience: 2 years’ experience in Banks / Financial Institutions / Government Institutions / other public sector institutions in the areas related to MIS / Data Analytics / forecasting. The current post held by the candidate should be at Scale I in PSBs / Grade A in AIFIs / equivalent in lending entities.

7. Senior Project Finance Officer (on contract):

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: Officers with a minimum working experience of 15 years in SCBs/Financial Institutions, of which a minimum of 10 years should be in handling Credit/Project Finance, appraisal and handling of credit/project proposals, and monitoring. Experience in Project Evaluation, Financial Modelling & Project Assessment.

8. Project Finance Officer (on contract):

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: Officers with a minimum working experience of 10 years in SCBs/Financial Institutions, of which a minimum of 5 years should be in handling Credit/Project Finance, appraisal and handling of credit/project proposals, and monitoring. Experience in Project Evaluation, Financial Modelling & Project Assessment.

9. Senior Application Developer (on contract):

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: B.E. (CS/IT)/B.Tech. (CS/IT)/MCA/MTech (CS/IT)/B.Sc. (CS/IT)/M.Sc. (CS/IT).
  • Minimum Post-qualification Experience: Greater than or equal to 48 months (Relevant experience as per the Job Profile mentioned in this recruitment shall be considered).

10. Application Developer (on contract):

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: B.E. (CS/IT)/B.Tech. (CS/IT)/MCA/Mtech (CS/IT)/B.Sc. (CS/IT)/M.Sc. (CS/IT).
  • Minimum Post-qualification Experience: Greater than 24 months to less than 48 months (Relevant experience as per the Job Profile mentioned in this recruitment shall be considered).

11. JMGS-I (Assistant Manager):

Generalist:
  • Minimum Educational Qualification: A full-time bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks (55% in case of SC/ST/PwBD) or a full-time Master’s Degree in any discipline with an aggregate minimum of 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PwBD) from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Candidates possessing qualifications of Chartered Accountant/CMA/Company Secretary may also apply.
  • Minimum Post-qualification Experience: While no prior experience is required, any relevant experience would be given weightage. Skills required include communication skills (written and oral), analytical ability, and a general understanding of the economic scenario.
Hindi:
  • Minimum Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Hindi from a recognized University with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks Or Master’s Degree in Hindi with an aggregate minimum of 50% with ENGLISH as one of the main subjects at the degree level.
  • Minimum Post-qualification Experience: While no prior experience is required, preference will be given to candidates having experience preferably in Government Departments/ Public Sector Undertakings/ Banks/ Academic Professional Institutions in translation from English to Hindi and vice versa. Knowledge of shorthand/typing in (HINDI) and knowledge of rules and procedures of Government as regards official languages. Responsibilities include facilitating the usage of Hindi at all levels, Hindi typing/translation knowledge, preparation of reference material/circulars/letters/publicity materials, etc., for effective communication, organizing Hindi workshops/training, and assisting the Bank in compliance with provisions of O.L. Act, Government guidelines, etc.
