The Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE), Assam, presents DSE Assam Recruitment for educators with the release of two employment notifications, aiming to fill 1526 vacancies for the position of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in various Government and Provincialized Secondary Schools under the esteemed Secondary Education Department, Government of Assam. Pay Scale: Rs. 22,000/- to Rs. 97,000/-, including Grade Pay of Rs. 11,800/- per month.

Eligibility Criteria for DSE Assam Recruitment:

Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 38 years as of January 1, 2023.
Age Relaxation:
OBC/MOBC: 3 Years
ST/SC: 5 Years
Ex-Servicemen: 2 Years
PwD: 10 Years
Educational Qualification: Applicants should possess a Post Graduate degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized University. Additionally, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) qualification from an institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education is mandatory.
Small Family Norms: Candidates should adhere to the government policy on Small Family Norms.
Teachers Eligibility Test cum Recruitment Test: Candidates must appear and pass the Teachers Eligibility Test cum Recruitment Test, the details of which will be notified later.
Medium of Instruction: In addition to academic and professional qualifications, candidates must meet specific language criteria based on the medium of instruction:
(a) Assamese Medium School: Proficiency in Assamese or a diploma in Assamese Language. The applicant must have passed the HSLC or equivalent examination with Assamese as one of the subjects or have a diploma in Assamese Language issued by the Assam Sahitya Sabha or read up to HSLC level in an Assamese Medium School.
(b) Bengali Medium School: Proficiency in Bengali or a Diploma in Bengali. The applicant must have passed the HSLC or equivalent examination with Bengali as one of the subjects or have a Diploma in Bengali issued by the Barak Upatyaka Bangya Sahitya O Sanskriti Sammelan or read up to HSLC level in a Bengali Medium School.
(c) Hindi Medium School: Proficiency in Hindi. The applicant must have passed the HSLC or equivalent examination with Hindi as one of the subjects or read up to HSLC level in a Hindi Medium School.
(d) Bodo Medium School: Proficiency in Bodo. The applicant must have passed the HSLC or equivalent examination with Bodo as one of the subjects or read up to HSLC level in a Bodo Medium School.
(e) English Medium School: Proficiency in alternative English or education in English from Class XI onwards. The applicant must have passed the HSLC or equivalent examination with alternative English as one of the subjects or read from Class XI onwards in an English Medium School.
Physical Fitness: Applicants for the Post of Graduate Teacher must be in sound mental and physical health and undergo a medical examination before appointment.

Number of Qualified Candidates:

The number of qualified candidates in the TET cum Recruitment Test shall be in the ratio of 1:1 of the vacancies advertised.

DSE Assam Recruitment Merit List:

In case any post remains vacant after the first Merit List, additional Merit Lists will be published. Separate Merit Lists will be prepared subject-wise for Post Graduate Teacher recruitment. The criteria for the Merit List preparation will be based on the marks secured in the TET cum Recruitment Test by candidates of a particular subject.
