Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Recruitment

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey in government communication? The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting invites you to be part of something big. We are looking for thirty-three (33) Young Professionals to join us on a contract basis, initially for one year, with the potential for extension up to three years. Your mission? To work in the regional offices of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and help us communicate effectively with the people.

General Terms & Conditions Of  Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Recruitment

Here are some important things to note about these positions:

Tenure

Your engagement will be for a maximum of three years. Continuation beyond the first and subsequent years will depend on your satisfactory annual performance review.

Exclusivity

As a Young Professional, you will work full-time and won’t be allowed to take up any other assignments during your engagement with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting/PIB.

Temporary Nature

Please understand that your appointment is of a temporary nature. The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting reserves the right to cancel your appointment at any time without specifying a reason.

Initially, we are looking to engage 33 Young Professionals. However, this number may be scaled up as per our requirements.

Educational Qualification and Experience Required In Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Recruitment

Here’s what you need to qualify:

Educational Qualification

Essential: Master’s Degree/Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Visual Communication, Information Arts, Animation & Designing, Literature, or Creative Writing.

Experience

Essential: Minimum two-year work experience after obtaining your Master’s Degree/Diploma, preferably in communication, design, marketing, animation, editing, or book publishing.

Language Proficiency

Proficiency in English and the specific Indian language(s) required for your region, as indicated in Para 5.5. (language competency should be mentioned in your resume).

Key Responsibilities

As a Young Professional, your role will encompass various key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with officers and departments to create communication materials related to government policies, schemes, announcements, and events.
  • Craft and edit content for press releases, policy briefs, fact sheets, speeches, and other communication materials.
  • Design visually
  • engaging graphics, including infographics and social media posts, to support communication efforts.
  • Develop and produce videos, including scriptwriting and editing, to convey essential messages on social media platforms.
  • Check that all communication materials are correct, consistent, and adhere to branding, style, and messaging criteria.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering them on time and within budget.

Requirements Of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Recruitment

To be successful in this job, you must achieve the following requirements:

  1. Expertise in content writing, video editing, graphic design, and journalism.
  2. Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  3. Proficiency in graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, Canva, etc., is desirable.
  4. A working knowledge of video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro is advantageous.
  5. Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices for creating engaging content.
  6. Great attention to detail and the ability to prioritise activities are required.
Note: Proficiency in the specified Indian language(s) is crucial for undertaking your responsibilities effectively. During the selection procedure, you may be asked to share your work portfolio.
